Paolo Scheggi

Paolo Scheggi

Paolo Scheggi (Settignano, Florence, 1940 – Rome, 1971) was a key figure in the neo-spatialist avant-garde, active in the Milanese cultural scene from the early 1960s. His Intersuperfici serve as the foundation for a multidisciplinary exploration spanning painting, architecture, fashion, design, poetry, and theater.

After engaging with the concept of environment, starting in 1969 he began investigating urban performance and conducting an anthropological study of mythical-political language, culminating in a final conceptual and radical phase. This phase led him to create inhabitable environments marked by monumental features aimed at a metaphysical dimension.
